Worth Methodist

Local war memorials page

Three dark oak coloured board with names in relief. There are eight names of those who died and 55 names of those who served and returned from the war.
The Worth Methodist Chapel war memorial boards.
These three dark oak boards are held in safe keeping by Cliffe Castle Museum at their storage area in Shipley.
We do not have any dates for the demolition of Worth Methodist Chapel and the surrounding streets which were Oastler Street, Greenwood Street and Bright Street. What remains of Thwaites Lane is now the Eastern end of Dalton Lane and the position of the church was alongside the entrance to what is now F.B. Guest Limited (fuel suppliers.)
