International Women’s Day

An A3 size board which is one of eight which will be posted around Oakworth to celebrate notable women of the village for International Women's Day on Sunday 8th March 2026. It has a green border and purple writing at the top. A paragraph about Nesta Hoyle with her photo is included and a QR code to take visitors to her biography page.

Oakworth will be holding an International Women’s Day history trail with boards to celebrate IWD, which is on Sunday 8th March 2026.
There are eight A3 size ‘correx’ boards on lampposts around the village near to the former homes of notable women of Oakworth. These boards look similar to the Oakworth Remembrance Trail which ran from October to November 2025.

The boards will be on display from 7th March to 4th April.

On Saturday 7th March, the Keighley Town Mayor, Councillor Chris Herd very kindly agreed to come along for a photoshoot and to show his support for what we’re doing.
The eight boards were installed on the 7th of March 2026 by our volunteers and here are a few of them:
