Morton War Memorial Institute building

The inscription above the front door, which says ‘Memorial Institute Morton.’

This building has three fake resin ‘bronze’ war memorial panels mounted on the front wall which faces the main road. The building is situated in the centre of East Morton and is well used by the village as a community hall.
Note: The original bronze panels are now mounted on a wall inside the building to protect them from possible theft. The photos below are of the original panels are from 2009 when they were still on the outside wall.

The inscriptions on these panels are as follows:

First Panel: In the centre of the domed top is a wreath with the date 1914.
‘This institute was erected by public subscription in memory of the Men from Morton who served during the European War and in particular of those who gave their lives and whose names are recorded on these two tablets.
