St. John’s Church Keighley – Roll of Honour

This memorial is kept at St. John’s Church, Ingrow in Keighley.
It is very similar in form to the St. Peter’s Church roll of honour.
Description:
A dark oak framed and glazed roll of honour. The inscription is bordered by a geometric pattern on green background and topped by the flags of the Home Nations. Above are the Union Flag and Naval ensign. On the paper is a list of names of the St. John’s church parishioners who served, plus the names of those who died in the First World war. This may have been purchased as a printed paper roll of honour which allowed the church to add names themselves. These are hand written in two columns, in neat, decorative lettering.
The inscription reads:
FOR KING AND COUNTRY
ST JOHN’S PARISH CHURCH INGROW ROLL OF HONOUR
AUGUST 4TH 1914.
